VERSION AUF DEUTSCH In den vergangenen Monaten habe ich mich durch mein Studium viel mit Rassismus und seiner Verbindung zu anderen Diskriminierungs- Das Ziel des Forschungsprojektes ist es aufzuzeigen wie Rassismus und Weißsein im Kontext meines Freu_ndinnen- Ich hoffe sehr, dass ihr Lust und Zeit habt, teilzunehmen nicht nur weil ich das Forschungsprojekt sonst nicht durchführen kann, sondern vor allem weil mir die Auseinandersetzung mit dem Thema sehr am Herzen liegt. Vorab: Wenn ihr euch entscheidet mitzumachen, werden eure Beiträge anonymisiert und ich werde eure Beiträge im Forschungsbericht nur verwenden wenn ihr mir das ausdrücklich erlaubt. Ein bewusster Umgang mit Sprache ist mir wichtig. Das Projekt soll aber kein Wettbewerb in akademischer Sprache werden, sondern ein Dialog aus unterschiedlichen Perspektiven auf Augenhöhe. Wenn ihr mehr über das Projekt wissen wollt, könnt ihr euch das hier verlinkte Exposé durchlesen oder mich direkt fragen. Wie soll eure Mitarbeit genau aussehen: 1. Die FragensammlungIch bitte euch bei an einer Art Umfrage mitzumachen, die ich entworfen habe und in der ich Verschiedenes zu eurer sozialen Situation, eurer Biographie und eurem Bezug zu Berlin erfrage. Diese Informationen sollen einen Einstieg in das Thema Diskriminierung und Privilegierung darstellen und werden zunächst nicht für das Forschungsprojekt verwendet. Wenn am Ende des Projektes Zeit bleibt und ihr Lust darauf habt könnten wir mit diesen Informationen weiterarbeiten. Zum Beispiel indem wir versuchen Verbindungen zwischen den Biographien und dem zentralen Thema Rassismus herzustellen oder in-dem wir Stadtkarten entwerfen, die unsere Lebenswege visualisieren (es gibt darum auch Fragen zu eurem Berlinbezug). Dies ist jedoch völlig offen und von euch abhängig. Die Fragensammlung sende ich euch als rtf-Dokument per Email. Ihr könnt dort direkt reinschreiben und es mir zurücksenden. Wenn ihr schonmal reinschauen wollt, findet ihr die Version für B_erlinerinnen und die Version für Berlinbe_sucherinnen hier und oben unter Ihr könnt die Fragen so ausführlich, (un)vollständig oder kurz beantworten wie ihr mögt. Ihr könnt auch nur die Fragensammlung beantworten oder nur am Forschungsprojekt teilnehmen. Am besten wäre es natürlich wenn ihr bei beidem mitmacht. 2. Das ForschungsprojektIch schicke euch ein weiteres rtf-Dokument mit dem Titel BerlinNotebooks. Darin findet ihr keine Fragen, sondern Sätze die einige Aspekte und Teile der Ansichten zum Thema Weißsein und Rassismus ausdrücken, die mir wichtig sind. Dann folgen drei Schritte, in denen ihr und alle anderen Beteiligten, wie auch vorher, anonym bleiben. Schritt 1 Ich bitte euch diese Sätze zu kommentieren. Die Form und Länge dieser Kommentare entscheidet ihr. Eine ausführlichere Erklärung folgt mit der Email und ihr findet sie zusammen mit den Sätzen hier und oben verlinkt unter: BerlinNotebooks 1 Schritt 2 Ich schicke euch je nach Beteiligung einige oder alle Kommentare der anderen involvierten Personen (wieviele das sein werden steht noch nicht genau fest) und bitte euch darum die Beiträge der anderen zu kommentieren. Schritt 3 Ich schicke euch die Kommentare, die die anderen involvierten Personen zu euren ersten Beiträgen geschrieben haben und bitte euch wiederum auf diese zu reagieren. Das alles soll schriftlich und übers Internet geschehen, zum einen aus praktischen Gründen und zum anderen weil die Diskussion so anonym bleibt und ihr mehr Zeit zum Nachdenken habt. ENGLISH VERSION Due to my studies I was dealing a lot with racism and its relation to other forms of discrimination as for instance sexism during the last months. This includes also the engagement with my whiteness and the meaning of whiteness in general. During this summer term I am supposed to conduct a research project and I decided to use the opportunity to share my thoughts on these subjects with people that I like. My motivation is to demonstrate the convictions regarding racism that are important to me and to discuss them with you. The aim of the research project is to show how racism and whiteness is dealt with and negotiated in the context of the circle of my friend_s. I hope that you have the time and the interest to participate. Not only because I couldn’t conduct the research project otherwise, but first of all because the engagement with the subject means a lot to me. Beforehand: If you decide to participate, your contributions will be anonymized and I will only use them for the research report if you allow that to me explicitly. A reflected use of language is important to me. Nevertheless this project is not supposed to be a competition in academic language, but rather a dialogue from different perspectives at eye level. If you want to know more about the project you can read the english translation of the (link:) Exposé or ask me directly. How your participation is going to look like exactly: 1. The questionsI ask you to join a kind of survey that I designed and in which I ask for different things about your social situation, your biography and your relation to Berlin. Those informations are supposed to be an introduction to the topic discrimination and privilege and they won’t be used for the research project initially. If at the end of the project there will be time left and you are interested, we could continue working with those informations. We could for instance try to draw connections between the biographies and the central subject racism or we could design city maps that visualize our path of life (therefore there are also questions about your relation to Berlin). Anyway this part is completely open and depending on you. I’m going to send you the survey as a rtf-document via email. You can write into the document directly and send it back to me. You can answer the questions as detailed, (in)complete or short as you like. You could also join the survey or you could participate only in the research project. VERSIONE ITALIANA Durante i mesi scorsi nei miei studi mi sono occupata molto di razzismo e della sua relazione con altre forme di discriminazione (per esempio sessismo). Parte di questo riguarda il mio essere bianca (che di seguito chiamerò whiteness) e con whiteness in generale. Questo semestre devo svolgere un progetto di ricerca e ho deciso di usare questa opportunità per condividere i miei pensieri su questi temi con le persone che mi sono vicine. La mia motivazione è di mostrarvi quali sono le mie riflessioni rispetto il razzismo e di discuterle con voi. Lo scopo del progetto di ricerca è di mostrare come il razzismo e whiteness vengono negoziati nel contesto della mia cerchia di ami_che . Mi auguro che avrete voglia e tempo di partecipare, non solo perché non potrei svolgere il progetto senza voi, ma prima di tutto perché trovo il tema molto importante. In anticipo: Se decidete di partecipare, tutti i vostri contributi verranno anonimizzati e gli userò per la relazione sulle ricerche solo nel caso della vostra esplicita approvazione. Trovo importante l’uso consapevole della lingua. Però il progetto non deve diventare una competizione nella lingua accademica, ma invece un dialogo di prospettive diverse fra pari. Com’è pensata la vostra partecipazione esattamente: 1. Il questionarioVi prego di partecipare al tipo di questionario che ho creato e in cui vi chiedo diverse cose sulla la vostra situazione sociale, la vostra biografia e il vostro rapporto con Berlino. Queste informazioni devono essere un preludio al tema della discriminazione e del privilegio e inizialmente non verranno utilizzate per il progetto di ricerca. Se alla fine del progetto ci sarà tempo e avrete voglia potremmo continuare a lavorare con queste informazioni (ad esempio) cercando di trovare congiungimenti fra le vostre biografie e il tema centrale del razzismo o creando delle mappe che visualizzano i nostri percorsi di vita (per questo motivo ci sono anche delle domande sul rapporto con Berlino). Comunque tutto questo è completamente aperto e dipende da voi. Il questionario ve lo mando via email come documento rtf. Potete scrivere dentro il documento direttamente (salvarlo) e rispedirmelo. Se volete già dare un’occhiata al progetto, trovate le domande per le berlinesi e le domande per le visit_atrici linkata qui e su al link domande. Potete rispondere alle domande in modo dettagliato, (in)completo o breve a vostra scelta. Potete anche rispondere solo alle domande senza partecipare al progetto di ricerca e viceversa. Il meglio sarebbe ovviamente se partecipaste alle due parti. 2.
